Pre-School Time

It is once again time for my Pre-School to start up. Over the summer we have been doing little bits and pieces of it, but not a whole lot. This week, I have been adding a bit more to get the children back in the groove. We will be full-blown class again when September starts.

I've always worked with the children throughout the years, however, I felt the need to do more, to help make them more prepared for school. A few years back I wrote up my own curriculum. Since then I have found a company with a curriculum I am very pleased with...and it fits well with my own.

I would love it if I was able to teach pre-school half days and that was it. Hmmm, I think maybe I'll run that past Papa Bear and see what he has to say. *giggle*

Flashback Friday

I was thinking the other day about all the old shows I used to watch with the children on Nick Jr. Little Bear, Franklin, Blue's Clues, Alegra's Window....and one of my favorites--Gullah Gullah Island.

Don't get me wrong, I like many of today's shows also, but my heart has a special spot for some of these 'oldies'.

Playground

Papa Bear has given me the go-ahead to put a playground in our backyard! This is so exciting for me! I've been taking care of children for over 18 years and in all that time, I have had to move everything in the yard for mowing, and then move it all back again.

Not anymore. We will be laying landscape bricks and then filling the whole area with pea gravel. All equipment will then go in this area...no more moving to mow! Yippee Skippee!! I've been aquiring some larger items the last few months to add to the playground, as well as the balance beam Papa Bear will be putting in. I used to have large tires 'planted' in my yard upright that the children had a blast on. I'm hoping to 'plant' a few again (haven't passed that one by Papa Bear yet).

I'm a happy little girl right now. And another plus to this is even less mowing!
